wanderlust?
![]() In 1993, spouses of the former Yokota Officers' Spouses' Club (YOSC), with the assistance of local residents and other organizations, compiled and published the first edition of the Yokota Travelog. The intent of of the Travelog was to encourage community members to venture forth and experience new things outside of base, as well as provide handy information for newcomers about the use of the Japanese phone system, driving in Japan, riding trains, useful phone numbers, sending or receiving mail from the Japanese Postal Service, among many others. The 2002 guide still exists digitally today here, but is no longer maintained or published by the YSC.
Over the years, with the evolution of the digital age, the club decided to create a website to allow for better accessibility of the information - as well as to manage recurring updates. Hence, today the Yokota Spouses' Club (YSC) is very proud to bring the Yokota Travel site to the community! Much of the material presented is assembled from the Travelog, however, there has been an ongoing effort to the keep the information current and to expand the number of places covered. |
In addition to the site, the YSC has expanded our reach to social media - specifically to Facebook and Instagram. We encourage the community to share your stories, experience, recommendations, or updates. You can help us to maintain the site by using the #yokotatravel hashtag, by mentioning @yokotatravel on your posts and travel tips on social media, by emailing the Yokota Travel Chair at yokotatravel@gmail.com, or by messaging us on the Yokota Travel Facebook page.
